Responsibilities
Full Time
2:30pm - 11:30/11:45pm
Position Summary: This position is responsible for complying with safety work rules at all times and reinforcing safety as a core value. Ensures all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety & quality are followed to reduce product and process variability. The loader supplies the machines with flats of shell eggs to ensure continuous operation, lifting and carrying 6 flats (approximately 20-30 lbs.) safely to keep pace with production.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
- Adhere to safety policies and incorporate safety and health in all tasks.
- Ensure regulatory compliance at all times.
- Supply optiloader conveyors with flats of shell eggs, picking up 6 flats at a time safely from a nearby skid.
- Remove and stack dividers or skid sheets and empty skids to designated areas.
- Remove empty flats from the optiloader machine and stack them appropriately.
- Supply candlers with flats of fill-in eggs.
- Assist in monitoring the optiloader machine to remove jams.
- Follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality to uphold SQF Level certification.
- Report conditions or practices that may affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication and teamwork.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
- No prior experience or training necessary.
- Ability to read simple words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers; capable of printing and speaking simple sentences.
- Basic math skills: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with two-digit numbers, using units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and solve problems involving one concrete variable.
- Ability to lift and move skids weighing up to 50 lbs. safely.
- Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, turn, and carry approximately 20-30 lbs. or 6 flats of eggs.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions.
- Ability to work indoors in a wet, humid environment and travel stairs.
- Team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Driver’s license preferred.
- Compliance with GMPs and safety regulations, including wearing PPE such as bump caps, earplugs, and steel-toe boots.
- Ability to operate specific equipment or tools as required.
