Job summary

Moderna Therapeutics is seeking a data scientist to advance sequence-function modeling within our DSAI Research team. You will build models, run experiments, and collaborate across Research, RNA Sciences, Chemistry, and Bioinformatics to accelerate discovery and scale capabilities.

The role emphasizes ML, experimental design, and deploying ML-powered systems with a focus on reproducible results for internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Master’s with relevant experience in biotech or computational biology.

Responsibilities

  • Support and execute on research projects leveraging internal and external assay data via data analysis, algorithms, ML, and experimental design.
  • Apply recent advances in machine learning to RNA and LNP design.
  • Design and analyze molecular and sequence libraries using DOE, Bayesian optimization, active learning, and data-driven approaches.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain ML-powered systems leveraging internal assay data.
  • Adopt data science and software engineering best practices for reproducibility and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, scientists, software developers, and engineers across Moderna.
  • Communicate findings internally and externally.
