Supports and performs the development and programming of machine learning integrated software algorithms to structure, analyze, and leverage data in a production environment.

This role involves participating in end-to-end machine learning projects from conception through deployment and support. Collaborate with data scientists to solve intricate machine learning challenges using supervised learning, reinforcement learning, deep learning, and GenAI. Work closely with methodology researchers to incorporate insights and strategies to improve investor outcomes. Address complex problems with multilayered data sets, improve existing libraries, frameworks, and models, and coordinate with data analysts, data engineers, and architecture teams to identify data distribution differences affecting model performance.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess proficiency and a strong understanding of AWS cloud platform and services, including AWS SageMaker, AWS Lambda, S3, Step Functions, EMR, Glue, and other relevant services for building machine learning platforms.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the machine learning development cycle, including data engineering, exploratory data analysis, modeling, and deployment.
  • Design and implement scalable machine learning solutions, develop predictive models using advanced deep learning and statistical techniques, and collaborate with data science and engineering teams for integration and optimization.
  • Be skilled in software development, with proficiency in Python, VS Code, Jupyter Notebooks, and related tools.
  • Stay passionate about advances in machine learning, with knowledge of supervised learning, reinforcement learning, deep learning, and GenAI.
  • Understand AWS security practices, including IAM, S3 policies, security groups, and VPCs.
  • Apply best practices for model training, deployment, and operations, including hyperparameter tuning, evaluation, and operationalization.
  • Utilize Python frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Pandas, and PySpark.
  • Leverage software design patterns to develop modular, maintainable, and scalable code.

Responsibilities:

  • Support data pipeline development and support the creation of data pipelines in distributed environments (PySpark, Glue ETL).
  • Assist in integrating model pipelines into production environments, understanding the SDLC for models.
  • Review and modify pipeline designs, document changes, and coordinate with data science teams.
  • Support data discovery and automated ingestion, perform data quality analysis, and understand business context for model development.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business processes, formulate hypotheses, and translate requirements into analytic approaches.
  • Run model monitoring scripts, manage alerts, and address issues in data pipelines.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of programming and coding experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch, software design patterns, and managing data and model pipelines.
  • 3 to 5 years of AWS cloud experience, including core services, monitoring, architecture, CloudFormation, EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience in other engineering disciplines related to machine learning is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of related work experience in Machine Learning.
