Our Products

• GHOST: Removes atmospheric diffusion such as clouds, smog, and deep-sea turbidity.

• SPIRIT: Corrects atmospheric disturbances using astronomical data analysis.
• PHANTOM: Detects and identifies objects, generating visuals for aerial surveillance and satellite imagery.
• SPECTER: Enhances low-light visibility to reveal details not otherwise visible.

What You’ll Do

• Design, train, and deploy deep learning models focused on real-time image enhancement and reconstruction
• Collect and curate visual datasets from public and proprietary sources (e.g., satellite imagery, deep-sea footage, urban surveillance, astrophotography)
• Annotate and pre-process data to ensure high-quality training and validation pipelines
• Build modular, scalable training workflows using PyTorch and supporting tools
• Optimize inference performance for real-time and near-real-time deployment
• Conduct ablation studies and benchmarking across different vision model types
• Collaborate closely with the engineering and research team to integrate models into the larger Absentia system
• Document research, models, and data workflows with reproducibility and clarity in mind
• Continuously explore and evaluate new architectures, algorithms, and data sources relevant to Absentia’s evolving product stack
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in computer vision, image enhancement, or scientific imaging with machine learning
• Strong programming skills in Python; familiarity with PyTorch is essential
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and optimize training pipelines at scale
• Experience preparing and managing datasets, especially from noisy, real-world sources
• Ability to read and implement research papers and apply them to production or experimental models
• Familiarity with evaluating model performance in edge cases or difficult environments (e.g., low light, blur, occlusion)
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a highly technical, early-stage setting
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  
  

Nice to Have

• Prior work with satellite, aerial, or astronomical image datasets
• Experience deploying ML models using AWS (e.g., SageMaker, EC2, S3, TorchServe)
• Knowledge of diffusion models, ViTs, GANs, or hybrid architectures
• Experience working with government, defense, or research institutions
• Background in multi-modal data or predictive time-series modeling
