The role involves supporting Data Scientists and Modelers in building and deploying machine learning models for banking and lending products that have immediate customer and financial impact. You will collaborate with diverse teams including product, data engineering, and operations, engaging in both strategic discussions and technical implementation.

You Will

• Implement and deploy modeling approaches for new and mature products.
• Leverage new data sources, handle messy datasets, and clarify business decisions with data science techniques.
• Lead ML Operations and Infrastructure initiatives to enhance modeling capabilities.
• Support updates and troubleshoot models in production environments.
• Collaborate with product and platform teams within Block/Square.

You Have

• At least 3 years of professional experience in data analysis and machine learning roles.
• An advanced degree (PhD preferred) in computer science or a related field.
• Strong engineering skills with proficiency in Python; Java or other languages are a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Google Cloud or AWS.
• Experience developing and deploying machine learning models.
• Data visualization skills for analysis.
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Problem-solving skills with appropriate tools considering business and technical constraints.
• Experience with tree-based models and gradient boosting is beneficial but not required.
