Job description

Conductor Quantum is building quantum computers on silicon chips. Our foundational software automates the calibration and tune-up of semiconductor spin qubits—transforming raw silicon hardware into a ready-to-run quantum platform. By eliminating the manual device configuration bottleneck, we enable a few, and eventually billions, of qubits to operate reliably at scale.

This is your opportunity to do the best work of your life.

Join a small, passionate, and highly technical team comprising quantum physicists, hardware engineers, and machine learning experts to shape the future of computing.

We seek high intelligence, energy, and integrity individuals eager to change the world.

Role Overview: Machine Learning Engineer

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will develop core software systems that analyze quantum device data in real-time, optimize qubit parameters, and integrate with on-premise and cloud infrastructures. Your responsibilities include architecting, building, and maintaining the control and calibration stack, collaborating closely with customers, physicists, and hardware engineers. This high-impact role involves defining best practices, influencing product strategy, and establishing Conductor’s culture and growth foundation.

Responsibilities and Skills
  1. Machine Learning for Quantum Control: Design and implement Python pipelines to analyze quantum data, automate calibration, and develop models for real-time optimization, adaptive tuning, and intelligent control using techniques like Bayesian optimization and reinforcement learning.
  2. Computer Vision & Data Interpretation: Develop models to extract insights from high-dimensional experimental data, applying deep learning for pattern recognition, anomaly detection, and feature extraction to support automated decision-making.
  3. Cloud Infrastructure & Deployment: Deploy ML and CV models to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Build backend services for inference, data streaming, and orchestration, ensuring secure, scalable integration with lab infrastructure and hardware control systems.
  4. Customer Collaboration & Product Strategy: Work with quantum hardware teams and research labs to translate challenges into ML/CV solutions, shaping product features and validating approaches through prototypes and demos.
Other Perks
  • Free healthcare, dental, and vision insurance.
