Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture in Seattle is seeking ML engineers to contribute to large-scale recommendation algorithms across video, live, and e-commerce feeds. You will help build scalable models and data pipelines that boost user engagement and satisfaction. Applicants should have a CS degree, strong programming skills in C++/Python, and hands-on experience with ML methods.

Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch is expected. This is an on-site role with a fully in-person schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields.
• Strong programming and problem-solving ability.
• Experience in applied machine learning and familiar with algorithms like Collaborative Filtering, Matrix Factorization, Factorization Machines, Word2vec, Logistic Regression, Gradient Boosting Trees, Deep Neural Networks, Wide and Deep.
• Experience with Deep Learning Tools such as TensorFlow/PyTorch.
• Experience with at least one programming language like C++/Python or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Participate in building large-scale recommendation algorithms and systems (10M–100M scale) across TikTok.
• Build long and short-term user models and analyze data to extract latent interests.
• Design, develop, evaluate, and iterate on predictive models for candidate generation and ranking (e.g., CTR/CR).
• Design and build supporting/debugging tools as needed.
