Job summary

Bed Bath & Beyond is seeking a skilled software engineer to build web services, data pipelines, and ML infrastructure for the production website. You will help design ML algorithms for search ranking, recommendations, and ads, collaborating with product teams and expanding scalable systems.

This remote-friendly role includes occasional on-site expectations in Georgia and a comprehensive benefits package. You will work with a diverse team to deliver high-impact retail tech.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of professional software development experience.
• Strong coding skills, including proficiency in Java, Python, and SQL.
• Ability to design and build highly performant and scalable systems.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills. You have basic familiarity with techniques in machine learning, analytics and/or related fields.
• Excellent collaborator and communicator and are eager to learn and grow!

Responsibilities

• Build the webservices, data pipelines, and software infrastructure required to develop and deploy machine learning functionality to the production website.
• Assist in the design and implementation of core machine learning algorithms used by product teams, including: Search ranking, sponsored products ads, advertising technologies, recommendations, personalization, marketing
• Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper management.

• Experience with informational retrieval technologies such as search engines and recommendation systems.
• Experience building batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Experience in data mining, learning to rank, deep learning, natural language processing, machine learning, and/or related fields.
• Proficiency with unit, integration, and performance testing.
• Reasonable overlap with the following relevant technologies and processes:

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements
