Job summary

Cold Spring Brewing is seeking a dedicated operator for the Night Shift to run filler machines safely and efficiently on a rotating schedule. The role supports production line changes, adheres to GMP and food safety practices, and requires the ability to read English with a strong mechanical background.

Responsibilities include training on new processes, performing equipment checks, and documenting activities hourly.

Status: Full Time Night Shift

Hours: 12-hour shift - 6p-6a

Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)

[Plus a $2.00 night shift differential if applicable]

Summary

This position performs general production work in the Filler Area. Operates Filler Machines safely and efficiently.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Ensure that the new production line initiatives meet organizational objectives this will include changes to technology and systems, changes to business processes and changes in organizational structure and job roles.
  • Strive to achieve quick adoption of change and ensure efficient understanding and training in order to achieve organizational proficiency to handle new initiatives and projects.
  • Attends training on new processes and equipment. This may include self study.
  • Sanitizes the Filler/Blender and lines as required by schedule.
  • Does required equipment and maintenance checks.
  • Completes appropriate documentation every hour.
  • Assists in Housekeeping of area as required.
  • Observes that proper labels and lids are in place, taking appropriate action when needed.
  • Observes for proper levels of CO2.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or required by the supervisor/customer.
  • Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in Employee Handbook.
  • Adhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety
What You Need to Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret in English.
  • Have a strong mechanical background and ability to troubleshoot

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems
  • Experience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations
  • 1-3 years' experience in a high-speed Production environment
  • Knowledge working in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and use of customer portals
Job Setting

This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Employees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including standing for extended periods, walking on occasionally slippery floors, and handling equipment or materials.

Due to the nature of the facility, temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions including heat and cold.

The work environment can be loud, and hearing protection (ear plugs) is required. Additionally, to ensure safety and hygiene, employees must wear hairnets and refrain from wearing jewelry while on the production floor.

Alcohol is an ingredient in products we produce. We are unable to guarantee specific positions, work schedules or work environments that do not include working around alcohol.

Physical Requirements
  • Regular bending, stooping and lifting up to 50lbs regularly.
  • Extended standing on hard surfaces.
  • Will work around noise, dust, variable temperatures and use of production chemicals
  • Vision required: distance, close, color, peripheral and depth perception
  • Frequently required to stand, talk or hear, use hands, feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Works in a production and warehouse environment, including forklifts, equipment, and damp floors
  • Frequently exposed to working near mechanical parts and exposed to vibration.
