Job summary

Cold Spring Brewing seeks an Inventory Specialist to manage finished goods and raw materials, ensuring accurate posting in customer systems and ERP. You will monitor production, verify quantities, and resolve variances while collaborating with Shipping and VP Production teams.

The role is full-time with 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule (15 days per month), with a $2.00 night shift differential when applicable. Strong focus on GMP and inventory control is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in a blending or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge working in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and use of customer portals.
  • Good understanding of inventory control.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Regular use of computer, writing, and filing records.
  • Experience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations (preferred).
  • 3-5 years’ warehouse/forklift experience (preferred).
  • Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production-related inventory across lines and ensure materials are at correct locations.
  • Verify inventory quantities against VP production orders and report discrepancies.
  • Collaborate across departments to troubleshoot inventory variances and issues.
  • Coordinate with Shipping and Production on training and updates.
  • Assist in variance reporting and invoicing readiness for customers.
  • Troubleshoot missed scans and ensure timely resolution to protect production.
  • Support FEFO inventory control and regular counts of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Maintain and update ERP discrepancies and tag printing when needed.
  • Follow GMP, food safety practices, and company policies in daily tasks.

Our Opportunity: Inventory Specialist
Status: Full Time Day Shift [or Full Time Night Shift]
Hours: 12-hour shift - 6a-6p [or 6p-6a]
Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)

[Plus a $2.00 night shift differential if applicable]

Summary

This position assists in the documentation, oversight, and control of finished goods inventory, Raw materials and Ingredients in the facility both from customers as well as the company while specializing in the posting in various customer systems.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Monitor Customer scheduled production across all variety pack lines.
  • Ensure all materials are at correct location prior to production
  • Verify inventory issued to VP production orders
  • Work cross-departmentally to troubleshoot issues with inventory variances, deficiencies, and other issues.
  • Correspond with Shipping and Production teams regarding ongoing training, troubleshooting issues, and other updates as needed.
  • Monitor and troubleshooting issues requiring additional consumption of subs and raw materials for Finished Goods creation.
  • Verifies clerical computations against physical count of product and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
  • Evaluate/address issues with finished goods LPN’s that come off the line during VP Production runs
  • Resolve issues and elevate issues to System Administrator for resolution as needed
  • Assist VP Production with Variance reporting of Finished Goods and Raw Materials as needed
  • Once variance is reported, notify Accounting of which VP Production orders are ready for invoicing to customer
  • Troubleshoot issues with missed scans. Report and resolve in timely manner so as not to negatively impact VP Production
  • Resolve VP Production related issues affecting other departmental operations
  • Assist in moving and storing of product and materials as needed.
  • Assist in staging and preparation of documentation for product and material being picked up or shipped
  • Coordinates and performs regular inventory counts of raw materials and finished goods as required by customers and company.
  • Updates discrepancies in ERP system as well as issue new tag/reprint tag.
  • Documents discrepancies to ensure disciplinary action can be taken.
  • Assist in set up and control of FEFO Inventory System to ensure uninterrupted flow of product and materials to the various departments of the company as requested.
  • Combine partial pallets according to customer requirements.
  • Assist in analyzing damaged product
  • Helps coordinate month ending physical inventories and any additional reporting required by Customers
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or required by the manager/customer.
  • Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in Employee Handbook.
  • Adhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety.

Job Setting

This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Employees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including standing for extended periods and walking on occasionally slippery floors. Primarily works in office setting, may spend time in the production/warehouse environment.

Due to the nature of the facility, temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions including heat and cold.

The work environment can be loud, and hearing protection (ear plugs) is required. Additionally, to ensure safety and hygiene, employees must wear hairnets and refrain from wearing jewelry while on the production floor.

Alcohol is an ingredient in products we produce. We are unable to guarantee specific positions, work schedules or work environments that do not include working around alcohol.

Physical Requirements
  • Extended standing on hard surfaces.
  • Regular bending, stooping and lifting up to 60lbs.
  • Vision required: distance, close, color, peripheral and depth perception
  • Frequently required to stand, talk or hear, use hands feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Will work around noise, dust, variable temperatures and use of production chemicals
  • Regular standing and sitting for extended periods of time
