Job summary

Manatt’s is seeking a Machine Control Specialist to support our machine control systems on heavy highway projects in Ankeny, IA. You will work under Project Managers to set up new jobs, perform survey tasks, troubleshoot, train team members, and progressively build 3D models for dozers, graders, and paving equipment.

Responsibilities include reading and interpreting construction plans, calibrating sensors, and ensuring accurate layout in collaboration with field crews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CAD / Modeling experience preferred.
• Equipment operating experience required.
• Strong computer knowledge and efficiency expected.
• Strong communication and organizational skills required.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn new programs and flexible work hours.

Responsibilities

• Setup projects and coordinate with Project Managers.
• Perform survey tasks and verify elevations with reference points.
• Troubleshoot machine control systems and calibrate sensors.
• Train team members on machine control processes.
• Build and refine 3D models for job sites.
• Read and interpret construction plans/blueprints.
• Work with crews to ensure accurate construction layout.
