Job summary

APPLIED Adhesives is seeking a highly motivated Machine Builder II to assemble and install high-precision dispensing equipment. The role includes on-site testing, travel to customer locations 1–2 times per month, and providing installation and training as needed.

You will read engineering drawings, configure pneumatic/hydraulic/electrical systems, calibrate equipment, and ensure safety and quality before release. Strong mechanical aptitude and travel readiness are essential.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years building precision machinery or automated equipment.
  • Located in the Grand Rapids, MI area.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 1-2 times per month for roughly 3-5 days per trip.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, build, and integrate precision dispensing equipment according to engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions to ensure accurate machine construction.
  • Install and configure mechanical components, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and electrical controls.
  • Perform mechanical adjustments and calibrations to meet precise dispensing specifications.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues during the build and test process.
  • Document build processes, deviations, and improvements.
  • Maintain detailed records of quality checks.
  • Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to provide feedback on design improvements and buildability.
  • Ensure all machines meet quality standards and safety requirements before release.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following proper handling procedures for tools and components.
  • Support and adhere to all safety procedures and complete all required safety training.
  • Identify and support improvement opportunities for processes to support company objectives and customer expectations.
  • Perform set-up and training (occasionally service) on equipment at a customer’s facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Role:

We areseeking a highly motivatedMachine Builder II who specializes in the assembly and installation of high-precision adhesive and sealant dispensing equipment.

This role includes assembling and testing the equipment on-site and then following the equipment to the end customers’ location to provide installation, start-up and training as needed.

This is anon-siterolein Rockford, MI, which requires travel 1-2 times per month.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma orstate‑recognizedequivalent (such as a GED).
  • 3+ yearsof experience building precision machinery or automated equipment.
  • Located in theGrand Rapids, MI.Area.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Must be able to travel 1-2 times per month for roughly 3-5 days per trip.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Other Qualifications:
  • Technical School Certification preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical assembly principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
  • Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills for working with team members and customers and documenting work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Time management skills to handle multiple builds simultaneously.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.

Compensation:

Compensation for roles at APPLIED varies based on awidevariety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, work location, and internal equity. As required by applicable law, APPLIEDprovidesa reasonable compensation range for positions that may be filled in multiple locations.

Theanticipatedbasecompensation range for this position is $29.00 - $43.00 per hour.

This rangerepresentsa good-faith estimate of the compensation expected for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation offered may vary based on the factors noted above.
