Aerotek is seeking a skilled Machine Builder in Monee, IL to fabricate and assemble machines from detailed schematics and blueprints. You will prepare builds by gathering materials, review part lists, and complete layouts within timelines while coordinating with other departments for post‑assembly inspections.
This onsite contract‑to‑hire role requires reading tape measures and lifting up to 50 lbs, with a two‑week training trip abroad after starting.
We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Builder to join our team and contribute to the fabrication and assembly of machines. This role involves interpreting schematics and blueprints, preparing materials, and collaborating with team members to ensure high-quality machine assembly.
Build and fabricate machines following detailed schematics and blueprints.
Prepare builds by gathering all necessary materials and tools.
Review part lists and assembly needs per instructions.
Complete layouts and machine building and assembly within set timelines.
Collaborate with different departments for post-assembly inspections.
Perform quality checks and ensure attention to detail.
Read tape measures and micrometers accurately.
Lift items weighing over 50 lbs.
Travel for a two-week training session out of the country after starting.
Proficiency in mechanical and electrical assembly.
Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
Experience in machine building and fabrication.
Competency in electrical wiring and use of hand tools.
Military experience in airplane maintenance, navy maintenance, or heavy equipment.
Ability to effectively collaborate within a team.

This role is based in a state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled facility that's expanding rapidly. Initially, work hours are Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm, transitioning to a Monday to Thursday 10-hour day schedule. Steel toe shoes are required for safety. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monee, IL.
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
