Job summary

Dukane IAS LLC in ST CHARLES, IL is seeking an experienced assembler to work on large machines and custom products. You will assemble, test, and troubleshoot systems to meet customer schedules, and support quality policies using TQM practices.

The role requires strong mechanical/electrical assembly skills, ability to read schematics, and willingness to travel for installations and service at customer sites. Day shift, full-time position in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in metalworking, electrical wiring or machine assembly in lieu of post High School education.
• Experience in assembly is a plus.
• Desirable skills include reading blueprints and schematics, and ability to travel on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical machinery to meet customer requirements.
• Assemble electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems with engineering instructions (schematics, drawings and verbal).
• Inspect and test products to ensure quality and meet specifications.
• Operate fabrication equipment and tools including hand, pneumatic, and power tools; basic mill and lathe work.
• Communicate with group manager before making procedure changes to ensure ISO conformance.
• Maintain accurate timecards, checklists, and material transactions for inventory accuracy.
• Apply TQM techniques to improve processes and assure defect-free products.
• Perform work in other job classifications as required.
• Assist in installations and service issues at customer facilities (Travel required).

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This person will work on large machines and custom products to meet customer requirements. Assemble, test, and troubleshoot, products to meet the customer schedule. Will support the Corporate Quality policy and using TQM concepts, principles, and tools, to make continuous improvements in work processes.

POSITION FUNCTIONS:

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• Assemble mechanical machinery to meet customer requirements.
• Assemble electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems with the assistance of engineering instructions. (Schematics, drawings and verbal)
• Inspect and test products to ensure quality and meets all the requirements and specifications.
• Operate various fabrication equipment and tools including hand, pneumatic driven and power tools, and basic mill and lathe work as required to perform product assembly.
• Communicate with group manager before making any procedure changes to insure conformance to ISO standards.
• Maintain daily paper/computer work accurately, such as timecards, check lists and material transactions necessary to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Apply TQM techniques and procedures to improve processes and assure defect-free products to customers.
• Perform work in other job classifications and departments as required.
• Assist in installations and service issues at customer facilities. (Travel required).
