Job summary

Connect-Force is seeking a dependable Machine Builder for our Metro Detroit, MI on-site facility. This full-time role involves assembling custom industrial machinery, installing components, and aligning equipment per blueprints.

You will work with experienced technicians to build high-quality equipment and help meet production schedules. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in machine building or related field, strong mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with measuring tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in machine building, equipment assembly, maintenance, or a related mechanical field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and assembly documentation.
• Experience using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic components is preferred.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Responsibilities

• Assemble custom industrial machinery and equipment using mechanical drawings and assembly instructions.
• Install mechanical components including bearings, shafts, gearboxes, motors, linear guides, cylinders, and structural assemblies.
• Perform machine alignment, fitting, and adjustment to ensure proper operation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
• Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues during assembly and recommend practical solutions.
• Assist with machine testing, startup, and final inspections prior to shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to meet production schedules.
• Accurately document completed work and report any material or assembly concerns.
