Job summary

Leggett & Platt is hiring a machinist in Carthage, Missouri. You will perform complete and independent setup of machine tools, following prints and sketches to determine the sequence, tolerances, tools, and feeds.

Responsibilities include operating CNC Mills, Manual Mills and Lathe, reading blueprints, inspecting parts with measuring devices, and assembling in-house tooling, all while working with minimal supervision in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be knowledgeable in machine shop operations.
• Ability to read blueprints and machine parts to tolerance.
• Capable of using CNC Mills, Manual Mills and Lathe.
• Able to read measuring devices and perform inspections.

• Assemble in-house tooling.
• Perform other duties as requested or as deemed appropriate.
• Conform with the environmental policy and environmental management system.

Summary Of Position

Perform complete and independent setup of various machine tools and perform any operation within the machine's capacity, working from prints sketches, oral and written instructions to determine the sequence of operations to be performed, dimensions and tolerances to be held, tools to use, method of locating, aligning, and holding work, and feeds and speeds.

Skills Required

• Must be knowledgeable in machine shop operations
• Capability to use various machine shop tools and equipment.

• Work independently as well as in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision
• Ability to read various measuring devices and perform accurate inspections
• Must be able to read blueprints and machine parts to tolerance
• Good organization and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull 40 to 80lbs
