Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant Float to support exams and procedures across outpatient clinics. This role requires a Medical Assistant training program completion and an active Basic Life Support certification.

The float position will rotate through designated patient care areas, helping manage patient flow and assisting the clinic team to deliver efficient, compassionate care.

Qualifications

Summary Medical Assistants are essential members of the clinic team. They contribute to the healthcare of patients by assisting with exams and procedures, organizing and managing patient flow, and taking on other responsibilities based on the needs of the department. Certified Medical Assistant Floats will rotate in all assigned outpatient clinics or other designated patient care areas.

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant Float

Minimum Education Level: High School Diploma/GED

Minimum Field of Study: Minimum Education

Minimum Education Notes: Preferred Education Level: Preferred Field of Study: Preferred Education Notes: Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program; or Applicable Military Medical Training; or Students who are actively enrolled in a BSN program, have completed nursing fundamentals and can provide proof of enrollment at the beginning of every semester.

Licensure Certification Needed: Yes Minimum Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Minimum Licensure (Other): Certification or Registration from one of the following organizations:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA-Certified Medical Assistant)
• American Medical Technologist (RMA-Registered Medical Assistant)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA-Nationally Certified Medical Assistant)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA-Certified Clinical Medical Assistant)
• National Association for Health Professionals (NRCMA-Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant)
• Or, if a current Moffitt Medical Assistant, must receive Certification from one of the above organizations within one year of date of transfer from grandfathered unit.

Training Required: Salary Range $21.65 - $33.05 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role.
