Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is hiring for a Certified Medical Assistant (MAC Float) to support outpatient clinics in our MAC. The role requires completion of a Medical Assistant training program or active enrollment in related programs and a high school diploma or GED.

Minimum licensure includes BLS, and certification or registration from CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or equivalent; current MA transfers from a grandfathered unit must obtain within one year. Salary range posted: $20.14 - $30.70 per hour.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program; or applicable Military Medical Training; or Students actively enrolled in a BSN program and able to provide proof of enrollment at the beginning of every semester.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certification or Registration from CMA-Certified Medical Assistant, RMA-Registered Medical Assistant, NCMA-Nationally Certified Medical Assistant, CCMA-Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, NRCMA-Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant, or equivalent; if a current Moffitt Medical Assistant, must obtain within one year of transfer from grandfathered unit.

Summary

Medical Assistants are essential members of the clinic team. They contribute to the healthcare of patients by assisting with exams and procedures, organizing and managing patient flow, and taking on other responsibilities based on the needs of the department. Incumbents will be utilized in different units within the MAC (Moffitt Ambulatory Center) to ensure quality patient care and appropriate staffing needs are met. will rotate to different units within the MAC (Moffitt Ambulatory Center) in all assigned outpatient clinics or other designated patient care areas.
