Penn State Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Urgent Care West location in Camp Hill to provide assistance with health care services, obtain specimens, and conduct routine lab studies while supporting administrative tasks. The role offers a fast-paced clinic environment with 9 patient rooms and 2–3 providers at a time, with a flexible, four-day work week and alternating weekends.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for providing assistance with various health care services, for obtaining specimens, for conducting routine lab studies of specimens, and for assisting with administrative functions such as coordinating patient flow and scheduling appointments and phone messages. Serve as a trained preceptor for new medical assistant orientation and for instruction of medical assistant students.

This position requires a work schedule of seven days every two weeks:

• 5 weekdays 8:30am-8:30pm (including every other Friday to accompany the weekend) -
• Every other weekend 7:30-6:30pm

The Camp Hill Urgent Care is looking for individuals who are looking to grow their careers and broaden their skill sets. In this fast-paced clinic setting with 9 patient rooms and 2 to 3 providers on at any given time we are looking for someone who is adaptable and a team player. Previous medical experience is a plus but not required. We offer a flexible schedule of working 4 days a week with alternating weekends.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90-days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
• Previous outpatient experience preferred.
