Job description

Job Title: Level II Certified Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse

The Level II Certified Medical Assistant will be assigned to one of Aylo Health’s Clinical offices and is responsible for managing encounters and the clinical relationship between provider and patient, while driving a best-in-class patient experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring efficient patient care processes.

The Level II Certified Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse serves as a key member of the Care Team for a designated office, assisting with post-visit communications and workflows to facilitate quality healthcare and an excellent patient experience. This includes ensuring patient diagnostic imaging, labs, prescriptions, and other activities are processed timely and accurately, following the providers’ instructions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Initiate outgoing calls to patients with pending post-visit care
  2. Manage patient care and provider relations
  3. Manage turnaround time for encounters
  4. Serve as a point of escalation for a Level I Clinical MA
  5. Receive and process e-prescription requests from the pharmacy
  6. Call-in and submit patient medication to pharmacy as instructed by provider
  7. Contact insurance companies to receive prior authorization for medication
  8. Correspond with providers through electronic medical record system (eClinicalWorks) regarding patient activity
  9. Answer patient inquiries regarding general medical questions
  10. Obtain necessary personal and clinical information from patients
  11. Accurately document telephone encounters
  12. Receive test results from providers through telephone encounters
  13. Contact patients by phone in a timely manner, ensuring test results are conveyed accurately and privately, following all HIPAA regulations as instructed by the patient record
  14. Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • High School graduate or equivalent education
  • Proven history of delivering a positive patient experience
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program with a current Medical Assistant Certification/Registration
  • 5+ years’ work experience in a clinical private practice setting with EMR experience
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently to initiate a high volume of outgoing calls
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, prioritize, and facilitate multiple ongoing tasks
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be able to report to work as scheduled without delay, including rotating evening shifts until 7pm
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
