This role is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and executing a comprehensive Parts, Materials, and Processes (PM&P) program. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and traceability of parts and materials used in an advanced electro-optical space payload program. The M&P PM&P Engineer will serve as a key technical authority in maintaining program compliance and supporting successful execution through major design milestones.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in electronic parts control, materials compliance, and configuration management across complex space systems. This is a high-visibility role supporting critical program phases including Preliminary Design Review (PDR) through Critical Design Review (CDR), with direct engagement across engineering, supply chain, and customer stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and implement a full Parts, Materials, and Processes (PM&P) program in accordance with customer PM&P requirements and established program plans.
  • Execute and mature an existing PM&P Plan, coordinating approvals, deviations, and compliance activities with program stakeholders and the customer.
  • Lead and facilitate the PM&P Control Board, ensuring proper review, approval, and documentation of all PM&P-related actions.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of PM&P approvals, supporting artifacts, and configuration-controlled documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and supply chain teams to develop technical rationale and compliance documentation for parts and materials selection.
  • Support development and maintenance of as-designed and as-built parts lists, including foreign-acquired parts lists.
  • Ensure configuration control of the Program Approved Parts List (PAPL) across all program phases.
  • Coordinate and maintain required Supplier Data Requirement List (SDRL) deliverables, including:
  • PM&P Documentation (008)
  • Alert Responses and Submissions (012)
  • Software Bill of Materials (054)
  • Support development of PM&P-related inputs for program documentation and user guides.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure compliance with PM&P requirements and flow-down of material/process standards.
  • Participate in peer reviews, design reviews, and customer-facing technical engagements as required.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in Parts, Materials, and Processes (PM&P) within aerospace, defense, or space systems environments.
  • Strong understanding of electronic parts control, materials compliance, and configuration management.
  • Experience managing or supporting program parts approval processes and control boards.
  • Familiarity with aerospace materials including electronics, metals, composites, and space-qualified components.
  • Experience working with engineering, supply chain, and customer stakeholders in a structured program environment.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple compliance and configuration-controlled deliverables simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting electro-optical, spacecraft, or space payload programs.
  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman PM&P standards or similar aerospace PM&P frameworks.
  • Experience with counterfeit parts prevention and compliance programs.
  • Background in configuration management or systems engineering interfaces
