Job summary

Withum's Transaction Advisory Services team seeks a Mergers & Acquisitions Tax Lead Consultant to lead tax due diligence and structuring engagements for private equity and strategic clients across industries. You will work directly with clients, target company management, and engagement leadership while mentoring junior team members and contributing to the growth of the practice.

The Lead Consultant can be based in multiple US offices and this is a hybrid role with three in-office days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, J.D., LL.M. in taxation, and/or MST from an accredited college/university.
• 3+ years of federal tax and/or M&A experience in a public accounting firm, corporate tax department, or law firm.
• Experience in a large professional services organization; public accounting preferred.
• Effective communication skills both internally and externally, promoting active listening and follow-up on actions.
• Ability to prioritize on projects and adapt quickly to new challenges.
• Desire to be a long-term contributor to a dynamic team.
• Travel up to 20%, based on client needs and engagement scope.
• Established networking skills in a relevant industry.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating tax due diligence and structuring engagements.
• Managing multiple work streams at any given time.
• Collaborating with client management on focus areas and real-time issue communications.
• Working on reports that present findings and recommendations on key tax issues.
• Identifying integration, separation, and post-transaction transition issues.
• Collaborating with team members and contributing to M&A best practices.
