Job summary

Insite Legal in New York seeks a mid-level M&A/Private Equity Associate to join the NYC office. You will handle public and private mergers and acquisitions, LBOs, growth equity and complex transactions with early drafting and partner-level collaboration.

The role offers hybrid working, generous parental leave, wellbeing support, and a proactive pro bono culture with mentoring and a transparent path to partnership; base compensation aligns with market, $260,000–$390,000 plus bonuses.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of M&A and/or private equity experience at a top-tier US law firm.
• Admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility to waive in).
• Confidence running workstreams and owning ancillary documents, and growing confidence leading purchase agreement drafting.
• Strong academics and excellent written communication.
• Commercial instinct and a client-facing manner.

Responsibilities

• Public and private mergers and acquisitions.
• Leveraged buyouts, add-on acquisitions and exits.
• Growth equity and minority investments.
• Carve-outs, joint ventures and recapitalizations.
• General corporate and governance advice for sponsor-backed businesses.
