Job summary

SourceCo is a technology-enabled M&A origination platform connecting business owners with private equity firms, family offices, and strategic acquirers. We seek an Associate to engage and qualify inbound business-owner leads, match compelling opportunities with relevant buyers, and advance conversations toward potential transactions.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in deal sourcing, private equity business development, M&A, financial sales, consulting, corporate development, or a similar owner-facing role.
• Comfortable with frequent phone conversations, including outbound calling.
• Strong ability to build trust, ask thoughtful questions, and evaluate transaction readiness.
• Working knowledge of financial statements, valuation concepts, and business performance.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• High ownership mentality, strong work ethic, and consistent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Engage and qualify business owners entering SourceCo’s Marketplace.
• Lead introductory calls to understand each company’s financial performance, operations, ownership goals, valuation expectations, and transaction readiness.
• Convert qualified inbound leads into actionable M&A opportunities.
• Match opportunities with private equity firms, family offices, and strategic acquirers based on their investment criteria.
• Prepare compelling company summaries and coordinate owner-buyer introductions.
• Manage consistent follow-up to advance opportunities toward meaningful transaction discussions.
• Supplement inbound activity with targeted outbound calling and email campaigns.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and provide clear internal and client-facing updates.
• Conduct company, industry, and buyer research to support qualification and buyer matching.
