Job summary

Weatherford is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel, Mergers & Acquisitions to join the Houston, Texas team. The role supports global acquisition, divestiture, strategic investment, and integration activities, working with the lead M&A Attorney to manage transactions through closing.

The successful candidate will assist with due diligence, drafting and negotiation, regulatory coordination, post-closing integration, governance matters, and cross-functional project management across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Texas preferred).
• Approximately 2–4 years of corporate, M&A, securities, or commercial legal experience.
• Strong drafting and project management skills.
• Experience managing multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support acquisitions, divestitures, minority investments, and other strategic transactions.
• Coordinate legal due diligence activities and manage data rooms.
• Review, draft, and negotiate NDAs, letters of intent, purchase agreements, and closing documents.
• Coordinate with external counsel on transaction execution and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare transaction summaries, risk assessments, and materials for leadership.
• Support legal integration activities following acquisitions and investments.
• Assist with formation and governance of joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
