Job summary

Sylvan, Inc. is seeking a Corporate Development Senior Analyst/Associate to join its growth-focused team in Southfield, MI. The role blends M&A, capital markets and organic growth initiatives with close collaboration across finance, sales and operations.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in investment banking or similar, strong financial modeling, and experience in strategic analyses. In-person work will leverage Sylvan’s leadership, lenders and sponsors relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Approximately 2–4 years of transaction-focused experience (IB or similar).
• Hands-on financial modeling experience with complex analyses.
• Experience across M&A, leveraged finance, debt capital markets or related fields.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills for building presentations from scratch.
• Ability to distill complex analyses with limited direction.
• Strong PM skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with senior leaders.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to improve speed/quality while maintaining ownership.
• Entrepreneurial, generalist mindset and willingness to operate beyond a narrow lane.
• Michigan ties and in-person work at Southfield HQ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain financial models supporting acquisitions, financing activities and strategic initiatives.
• Prepare lender, investor and management materials and support transaction execution.
• Assist M&A, including LOIs, diligence, data rooms and coordination with sponsors and advisors.
• Support organic growth initiatives with financial analysis and market insights.
• Contribute to board and leadership presentations and key strategic analyses.
