M&A Business Development Analyst (Law Firm)

Job summary

SourcePro Search, LLC is seeking a Business Development Analyst in New York with 3–5 years in a law firm, preferably in an M&A practice. The role emphasizes high-level communication with Partners and senior executives, and requires a bachelor’s degree; JD or Master’s is a plus.

You will coordinate marketing initiatives, support the BD team, and help drive business development strategies across practice groups and lawyers. Overtime may be required depending on workload.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; JD or Master’s is a plus.
• 3–5 years of law firm experience, preferably in an M&A practice.
• Experience communicating with Partners and senior executives.
• Ability to handle time-sensitive requests across multiple lawyers and time zones.
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and research skills.
• Understanding of transactional terms and basic litigation terminology.
• Proficiency in standard office software and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Support partners in preparing targeted presentations (pitch books, RFP responses, and deal sheets) to communicate the Firm’s experience.
• Assist with submissions to league tables, directories, guides and surveys.
• Coordinate competitive intelligence research to update lawyers on market trends.
• Follow Firm news and maintain the practice experience database and CRM updates.
• Complete production tasks (editing, proofreading, assembling) to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate content for internal and external marketing conferences and events with the Events team.
• Maintain complete records of pitches, meetings and outreach in the CRM.
• Maintain lawyer biographies across print and digital channels.
• Collaborate with global staff to update marketing materials company-wide.
• Coordinate communications for digital channels and external websites to reflect practice details.
• Adhere to information security policies and protect firm assets.
