Job summary

Gateway Group Personnel, based in Memphis, Tennessee, seeks an experienced Private Equity / M&A Investment Professional to evaluate acquisitions, build complex financial models, and prepare executive materials. The analyst-to-director level position offers on-site work and exposure to a diversified portfolio with meaningful impact on value creation.

The ideal candidate has buy-side or related investment experience, excellent communication, and a track record of rigorous analysis.

Qualifications

• Experience in buy-side M&A, private equity, or investment banking.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analysis.
• Experience performing financial due diligence.
• Ability to develop investment recommendations from sound analysis.

Private Equity / M&A Investment Professional

Our client is a well-established private investment firm seeking an experienced investment professional to join its Memphis headquarters. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys evaluating acquisitions, working directly with business owners and executive leadership, and helping create long-term value across a diverse portfolio of privately held companies.

Title will be based upon experience and may range from Analyst through Director.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate acquisition opportunities and perform buy-side financial due diligence.
• Build and maintain sophisticated financial models.
• Prepare investment memorandums and executive presentations.
• Support transaction execution from initial evaluation through closing.
• Analyze company financial statements, operating performance, and business risks.
• Partner with senior leadership on investment strategy and portfolio initiatives.
• Assist portfolio companies with financial analysis, corporate finance, accounting, insurance, and other strategic projects as needed.
• Conduct industry, market, and competitive research.
• Work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in buy-side mergers & acquisitions, private equity, family office investing, corporate development, or investment banking.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
• Experience performing financial due diligence.
• Ability to develop investment recommendations supported by sound financial analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment where versatility is valued.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• CPA, CFA, MBA, or similar credentials are a plus.

Compensation

• Base salary approximately $125,000-$175,000+, depending upon experience (exceptional candidates may be considered above this range).
• Performance bonus opportunity of approximately $50,000.
• Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.

Location

• Memphis, Tennessee
• Full-time, on-site (Monday-Friday)
