Job summary

TTUHSC Montford Unit in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join its Psychiatric Services team. The LVN will deliver patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on behavioral health in a 550-bed inpatient psychiatric setting.

Rotating 12-hour shifts (4 on/4 off) with day shift options, competitive pay, and benefits are offered. Training and ongoing professional development are provided in a supportive, value-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Current Vocational Nurse License in the State of Texas, or ability to transfer license to Texas, or scheduled to complete a program of vocational nursing within 120 days of applying for a position.
• Current CPR certification.
• Graduated from an approved accredited nursing program. New graduates must pass the NCLEX-PN on the first attempt.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, perform assessments, and monitor patients’ health conditions to ensure adherence to care plans.
• Identify and report changes in patient conditions, contributing to problem identification and the development of patient care goals.
• Prepare and operate essential medical equipment for procedures, examinations, and treatments.
• Accurately record patient assessments, interventions, and medication administration in the EHR.
• Work closely with healthcare providers and correctional staff to ensure coordinated care in a secure environment.
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare policies, safety standards, and regulations, including proper medication storage and direct observation protocols.
• Assist in medical emergencies, triaging patients, and provide immediate care when necessary.
