Job summary

Casa de las Campanas in San Diego, CA is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for weekend shifts to oversee dementia initiatives and provide compassionate care to residents in a high-quality senior living environment.

The LVN will validate residents’ needs, direct CNAs, and collaborate with physicians and health agencies to schedule therapies and appointments, ensuring smooth daily operations and resident safety.

Qualifications

• LVN with two years of geriatric nursing/assessment experience.
• One year of dementia care experience preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to assess resident needs and respond appropriately to changes or emergencies.
• Ability to provide clear direction to Resident Helpers and work effectively as part of a team.
• Compassionate, professional, and resident-focused approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Orders and maintains medications.
• Keeps accurate maintenance of medical records.
• Schedules necessary service for residents on a daily basis.
• Coordinates with physicians and health agencies regarding Physical/Occupational Therapy, Lab works, and other services.
• Assists with scheduling doctors’ appointments and transport requests if necessary.
• Takes proper action during emergencies and notifies designated personnel.
• Completes and emails shift reports.
• Attends mandatory facility activities and meetings.
