Job summary

La Paloma Healthcare Center is seeking an LPN/LVN to supervise nursing assistants and oversee daily nursing operations in a long‑term care facility. The role requires adherence to federal, state, and local guidelines and close coordination with the Nursing Director or Nurse Supervisor to maintain high‑quality resident care.

The position emphasizes supervision of staff, proper documentation, and active involvement in quality assurance, patient safety, and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN/LVN in this state.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
• Supervise nursing personnel to comply with written policies and procedures established by the facility.
• Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the facility's quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
• Participate in facility surveys (inspections) by government agencies as required.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
• Complete accident/incident reports and maintain nursing records.
• Provide leadership to nursing personnel and conduct daily rounds to ensure standards are met.
• Review and update nursing department policies and procedures as needed.
