Description

Summary:

Provides care under supervision of a physician or registered nurses for clinic patients, following established standards and practices. Performs various lab procedures as needed and in accordance with competency.

Responsibilities:

1. Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
2. Under the direction of the physician, performs basic patient care duties including obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, and collecting specimens (including phlebotomy specific to the site). Assists providers in examination and treatment of patients and with procedures. Supports patient flow through the clinic.
3. Answers phones, records messages, and assists providers with patient-related calls.
4. Assists in scheduling tests, appointments, results, and pre-certifications.
5. Documents any information related to patients.
6. Assists providers with medication refills.
7. Administers medications and immunizations according to provider orders.
8. Cleans and restocks exam rooms, cleans equipment per policy, and orders supplies from the supply department. Maintains sterile technique and utilizes universal protocols.
9. Performs routine clerical duties such as locating patient charts, filing, and completing forms.
10. Attends required meetings and in-service trainings, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• CERT
• LVN License in the state of employment or a compact state
• BLS certification
