Job summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at the Community Living Center (CLC) delivers practical nursing care to Veterans and their families, covering behavioral health, pain management, IV therapy, and complex wound care in a home-like, 24/7 setting. The role requires safe, resident-centered care with strong clinical judgment.

Applicants must have graduated from an approved LPN/LVN program and hold an active, unrestricted license, with English proficiency for direct patient care; U.S.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved practical or vocational nursing program and licensed in the appropriate state.
• English language proficiency required for direct patient care.
• Active, full, current, and unrestricted LPN/LVN licensure in the United States or DC.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident care in a 24/7 long-term care Community Living Center setting.
• Assist RNs in implementing plans of care and documenting actions.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
• Recognize emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions; use basic clinical judgment.
• Maintain safety through adherence to policies and procedures and effective communication with patients and families.
