Job summary

Community Health Center Of Lubbock in Texas is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to support physicians and nurses in a busy clinic setting. You will take vital signs, record patient histories, administer vaccines and draw blood to aid patient care.

Ideal candidates hold a Texas LVN license, have 1–2 years of clinic experience, CPR/BLS certification, and strong communication and teamwork skills. English is required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited LVN/LPN program.
  • Texas LVN license current and active.
  • 1–2 years' LVN experience, preferably in a clinic or doctor's office.

Job description

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) works in a supportive role to medical professionals, assisting in patient care within a clinic setting. The LVN is responsible for taking vital signs, recording patient histories, administering vaccines and blood samples, and providing overall nursing support.

Responsibilities
  • Record and update patient histories
  • Discuss health care issues and concerns with patients
  • Provide assistance with therapies
  • Draw blood for testing
  • Act as a point of contact for a patient
  • Assist physicians and nurses by recording vital signs, documenting health information, and administering vaccinations or blood samples as instructed
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical/Vocational Nursing program
  • Licensure: Licensed practical or vocational nurse in Texas
  • Experience: One to two years as an LVN, preferably in a clinic or doctor's office
  • Expertise: Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers)
  • Language: English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Travel: 25-50% locally; valid Texas driver's license and current auto insurance required; reliable safe transportation
  • Skills: Good judgment, neat and clean presentation; excellent teamwork and organizational skills; strong customer service and communication skills (speaking, writing, listening); ability to learn and apply new knowledge; service orientation; time management; ability to teach others (staff and patients)
