Job summary

Lone Star Circle of Care in Texas is seeking a compassionate LVN to support patient care under licensed clinicians. You will perform focused nursing assessments, assist with exams, and help with treatments in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act.

This role offers a Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm schedule, a $2,500 sign-on bonus, and competitive pay starting at $23.00 per hour, with pay based on experience. Join a mission-driven team delivering equitable care to our communities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program.
• Current and valid Texas LVN license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, evaluate, and document patient histories.
• Measure and record vital signs.
• Assist licensed medical staff during patient examinations.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Prepare and administer medications per the Five Rights of Medication Administration.
• Manage referrals and track consultation reports.
• Document lab results in the EHR and coordinate referrals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

A Day in the Life of an LVN

• Obtain, evaluate, and document patient histories
• Measure and record vital signs
• Assist licensed medical staff and/or Registered Nurses during patient examinations
• Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as needed
• Prepare and administer medications according to the Five Rights of Medication Administration
• Perform routine diagnostic and laboratory proceduresManage referrals, including processing, tracking, and closing referrals upon receipt of consultation reports
• Receive and document STAT calls from Quest and ARA and communicate results to providers
• Complete data entry within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, including lab results, hemoglobin, and lead screenings
• Coordinate authorizations and identify in-network service providers for speech, occupational, and physical therapy referrals
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
• Current and valid Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous nursing experience in a clinic or outpatient setting
• Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills
