Job summary

The Children'S Clinic in Long Beach, CA is seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join a fast-paced outpatient team. You will support providers with clinical tasks, manage patient flow, and ensure accurate EMR documentation in a patient-centered environment.

The position requires LVN licensure, EMT/BLS certification, and strong communication. Eligible for comprehensive benefits with regular daytime schedule, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required.
• CPR/BLS Certification required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and EMR systems).

Responsibilities

• Manage daily walk-in patient flow and coordinate timely follow-up.
• Process laboratory and imaging orders from specialty offices and PCPs.
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR.
• Process medication refill requests and prior authorizations.
• Provide patient education and support care coordination.
• Administer vaccines in accordance with clinical protocols.
• Coordinate Medical Assistant schedules as assigned.
• Monitor incoming mail, faxes, and provider correspondence.
• Prepare forms for provider review and signature.

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)provides safe, high-quality patient care by assisting providers with clinical treatments, procedures, and administrative duties within the California LVN Scope of Practice. The LVN delivers compassionate care to infants, children, adolescents, and adults while supporting efficient patient flow in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

• High School diploma or GED REQUIRED.
• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program REQUIRED
• CPR/BLS Certification REQUIRED
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and EMR systems)

Preferred

• At least one year of outpatient clinic experience
• Phlebotomy or Blood Withdrawal Certification
