Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System in Cleveland is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for the Mechanical Circulatory Support Service/LVAD III at the Main Campus. The role entails inpatient rounding, outpatient visits, and occasional travel to local facilities to care for LVAD patients.

Expect 3–13 hour shifts with a monthly 4–10 hour shift, plus night call about once weekly. Requires MSN and national APRN certification; RN licensure is also required.

Qualifications

• MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• If in neonatal care service area Master’s Degree is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts thorough medical histories and physical examinations, initiates tests, and develops a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Performs laboratory, radiologic and other diagnostic procedures as credentialed and privileged.
• Performs routine and specialized procedures as credentialed and privileged.
• May prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by license and hospital policy.
• Educates patients about diseases, treatments and drug side effects.
• Participates in medical rounds and collaborates with nursing and other team members.
• Refer patients to specialists for consultation or resources.
• Ensures continuity of care as a liaison among care team and specialties.
• Engages in quality monitoring and treatment plan reviews for outcomes.
• Supports discharge planning and regulatory compliance.
• Promotes evidence-based practices and may contribute to research.
