Job summary

Vertiv in Anderson, SC is seeking a detail-oriented Test Engineer to design and develop test setups and procedures for LV power distribution systems in data center projects. You will work with cross-functional teams in a lab environment, directing technicians and preparing test documentation for product qualification and customer demonstrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent; thermal sciences preferred.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in power management systems testing; others considered.
  • Knowledge of Vertiv Power Management Products preferred.
  • Knowledge of LabView preferred.
  • Understanding of Thermal rise and short-circuit current ratings for LV/MV Switchgear and Switchboard products.
  • Ability to read and interpret industry test standards and schematics.
  • Hands-on with products and test set-ups to troubleshoot issues.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Lab Technicians and assign daily tasks in a lab environment.
  • Collaborate with design teams to align test procedures with expectations.
  • Create test plans for equipment demonstrations.
  • Review progress and interpret test results.
  • Present test data to customers using test equipment.
  • Conduct test validations and Factory Witness Tests.
  • Calibrate instruments in the lab.
  • Support engineering and customer teams to ensure quality results.
  • Nice-to-have: UL/CE safety certifications.
