Job summary

The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia is seeking a Wedding Sales and Events Manager to lead the sales, planning, and execution of its wedding program. You will serve as the primary contact for inquiries and guide couples from inquiry through contract, planning, event day, and post-event follow-up.

You will build strong client and vendor relationships and coordinate closely with the Director of Events & Catering, Levy Restaurants, and museum departments to deliver exceptional experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years’ experience in wedding sales/planning, hospitality, catering, or similar client-facing role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership and motivating skills; ability to build relationships with customers, vendors, and staff
• Proven track record in client relationships and supporting wedding sales or client conversion
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Experience managing staff in events; luxury weddings preferred
• Experience with event software or management tools (Delphi or similar)
• Comfort standing long hours and lifting event equipment up to 40 pounds
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for all wedding inquiries and drive sales
• Manage weddings hosted at The Franklin Institute and coordinate site tours
• Prepare proposals, contracts, pricing info, and client materials
• Convert leads into booked events and track progress
• Maintain relationships with clients and vendors to support satisfaction and referrals
• Coordinate with venues, Levy Restaurants, and museum departments on logistics
• Act as onsite manager for weddings, including weekend/evening events
• Handle post-event follow-up and surveys
