Job summary

Ted Turner Reserves at Vermejo in New Mexico is seeking an experienced Seasonal Wrangler for the 2027 season. This role focuses on leading trail rides, supporting the wrangling team, and maintaining a safe, pristine barn environment.

Positions may run up to six months with starts beginning in March 2027. You will work mainly in the barn, help with horse care, equipment prep, and guest safety briefings, with housing provided on Vermejo headquarters.

Qualifications

• Experience as Wrangler or equestrian role with horsemanship and horse care.
• Strong guest-service mindset and communication skills.
• Ability to handle horses of various temperaments safely.
• Basic maintenance of riding equipment and facilities.
• Commitment to safety and emergency readiness.
• Driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging trail rides and support wrangling team.
• Maintain a safe, pristine barn environment and facilities.
• Assist with horse care, equipment prep, and daily tasks.
• Exercise and condition the horse herd for guest activities.
• Record horse health, feed schedules, and riding routines.
• Adhere to safety standards and pre-ride briefings.
