Job summary

Tone Deaf Studios on Orchard Street in New York seeks a full-time client advisor to help open and shape our first permanent store. You will learn the brand, product, and story while engaging customers with genuine, un scripted service and building relationships with repeat clients.

As a keyholder when scheduled, you will support opening/closing, stock, merchandising, and events, ensuring a welcoming environment and strong collaboration with the Store Manager and founder.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years in fashion, premium, luxury, or specialty retail.
• Strong sales ability and genuine customer focus.
• Experience with clienteling and long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, knowledgeable, and genuine customer experience.
• Develop understanding of Tone Deaf brand, product, fit, construction, materials, and styling.
• Engage customers naturally with product seeking rather than scripted sales.
• Serve as a keyholder when scheduled, assisting opening/closing and basic store operations.
• Help customers find products, build outfits, and explain construction behind each piece.
• Build relationships with customers and develop clienteling habits.
• Follow up with customers and maintain meaningful relationships with repeat clients.
• Support visual merchandising and keep the sales floor well presented.
• Keep merchandise organized, replenished, and properly displayed.
• Assist with receiving shipments, inventory organization, and stockroom upkeep.
• Operate POS accurately and follow store procedures for purchases, returns, and payments.
• Support opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming store environment.
• Participate in store events and brand activations.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
• Help build a store experience connected to Orchard Street culture.
