Job summary

Winvian Farm, a Relais & Châteaux retreat, seeks a Restaurant Manager to lead front-of-house operations in a luxury setting in Morris, CT. The role emphasizes service execution, team development, and guest care, with opportunities to advance toward broader F&B leadership.

You will manage daily service, train staff, and collaborate with culinary leadership to ensure exceptional hospitality and wine-focused dining experiences, including special events and evenings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive restaurant leadership in fine dining or luxury settings.
• Ability to lead service confidently and develop a dependable team.
• Strong wine knowledge and polished wine-service skills; advanced education is a plus.
• Experience with scheduling, inventory, and basic labor/operating cost controls.
• Strong organization, communication, and follow-through.
• Warm, professional approach to guests and colleagues.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily service across fine and casual dining, coordinating staffing, reservations, preparation and service flow.
• Build relationships with hotel guests and local diners through attentive hospitality.
• Train, coach, and hold staff accountable for consistent standards.
• Lead preservice briefings on menus, guest preferences, and priorities.
• Collaborate with culinary leadership to ensure clear communication and well-paced service.
• Prepare schedules, review timecards, and align staffing with business levels.
• Support wine and beverage service, inventory, and cost control.
• Monitor sales, labor, and beverage performance and suggest improvements.
• Coordinate service for special dining experiences and events.
