Job summary

White Barn Inn, Auberge Collection in Kennebunk, Maine, is seeking a Restaurant Host (part-time or full-time) to uphold its welcoming atmosphere and exceptional service from arrival to departure. As a key member of the Auberge family, you will greet guests, handle reservations, coordinate seating, and collaborate with Food and Beverage to maintain an outstanding guest experience.

Experience in hospitality, strong English communication, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays are preferred;

Qualifications

• Prior experience in customer service or hospitality, preferably in a high-end setting.
• Strong communication skills and fluent English (spoken and written).
• Must meet minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to obtain state/local certifications (food handler, alcohol training) as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly, provide courteous service, and manage check-ins and seating.
• Answer phones, take reservations, order in-room dining, and update records.
• Coordinate with staff to optimize guest placement and flow.
• Assist with station charts, assign stations, and guide servers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station.
• Monitor guest profiles, VIP arrivals, and special requests.
• Ensure menus and wine lists are current and stocked.
• Resolve guest complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction.
• Familiarize yourself with hotel services and local attractions.
• Collaborate with Food and Beverage to maintain a positive restaurant tone.
