Job description

Position Overview

Provide professional and courteous transportation and bellman services for The Ranch at Laguna Beach guests using luxury vehicles and golf carts. Deliver guests to destinations, assist team members, and maintain vehicle cleanliness and compliance with all traffic laws.

Responsibilities

• Transport and shuttle guests on and off property in luxury vehicles and golf carts.
• Assist with team‑member shuttle service and maintain radio communication with Guest Services.
• Monitor parking availability, traffic delays, and road hazards.
• Open and close shuttle doors for pick‑up and drop‑off.
• Ensure compliance with local and state traffic and roadway laws while on duty.
• Assist associates with parking and conduct vehicle damage checks.
• Maintain cleanliness of all vehicles used for transporting associates and guests.
• Report safety hazards or vehicle service indicators (e.g., check engine light, low tire pressure).
• Observe proper driving etiquette, including speed, music, and noise control.
• Greet guests promptly, escort them to their rooms after check‑in, and assist with baggage handling.
• Provide a room orientation and inform guests of safety features and amenities.
• Promote The Ranch at Laguna Beach offerings throughout the resort.
• Assist guests with additional requests such as directions to pool, spa, or other resort services.

Supportive Functions

• Shuttle guests and associates in golf carts around the resort and to/from the beach.
• Deliver amenities and packages to guests as needed.
• Assist with additional requests per management’s direction.

Qualifications

• Education & Licensing: High school diploma or equivalent; valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must be 25 years or older.
• Experience: Prior experience as a luxury shuttle driver or valet and customer service experience. Ability to operate manual, electric, and automatic luxury passenger vehicles (e.g., Tesla, Rivian, Porsche).
• Grooming: Maintain a neat, clean, well‑groomed appearance per The Ranch and Forbes standards.
• Competencies:
  • Fluent in the primary workplace language(s), with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of the city and local tourist attractions.
  • Knowledge of The Ranch operations, services, and facilities.
  • Maintains a satisfactory driving record.
• Physical Demands:
  • Work performed outdoors with exposure to weather.
  • Stand, drive, get in and out of vehicles for up to 8 hours.
  • Lift up to 75 lbs and push/pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Perform bending, stooping, squatting, and stretching for cleaning and luggage handling.
  • Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity for equipment operation.
• Attendance: Regular attendance is essential. Irregular attendance may result in disciplinary action, up to termination. Work schedules may vary to meet business needs, and attendance at scheduled training and meetings is required.
