Job summary

Whitman Family Development LLC is seeking a Loading Dock Attendant to manage Bal Harbour Shops’ loading dock and related activities. You’ll ensure smooth unloading, direct dock traffic, and provide friendly service to drivers, guests, and tenants.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, incident reporting, coordination with maintenance and security, and timely documentation. Strong communication and basic computer skills are essential; a high school diploma and dock experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, strongly preferred.
• 1 year preferred experience in loading dock or warehouse management.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of staging and delivery activities to support timely, damage-free unloading of shipments.
• Directs traffic to ensure only authorized vehicles enter the loading dock and are assigned to appropriate loading areas.
• Provides individuals who enter the loading dock with friendly and professional customer service, addressing their loading dock-related inquiries and concerns or offer guidance on finding parking or otherwise redirecting them appropriately.
• Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and escalated complex problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain a safe and secure loading dock environment by monitoring the premises regularly.
• Report any suspicious activities or security breaches to the appropriate authorities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures, such as fire lane restrictions and emergency access points.
• Monitor the loading dock’s condition, reporting any damages, maintenance needs, or hazards to the appropriate department.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure repairs or cleaning tasks are carried out promptly.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as clearing debris from walkways.
• Collaborate with security personnel or law enforcement agencies during emergencies or evacuations.
• Coordinate with relevant departments or personnel to address repeated or unauthorized parking violations.
• Verifies and/or completes required documentation and reports.
• Complies with all applicable laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
