Job summary

Ambassador Hotel Wichita, Autograph Collection, is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher to keep our culinary spaces clean and efficient. You will support daily dishwashing operations and help maintain pristine kitchen areas to enable the Culinary team to deliver upscale dining experiences.

Ideal candidates value safety, cleanliness, and teamwork, and are able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed in a fast‑paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous stewarding, dishwashing, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper chemical handling procedures.
• Ability to safely operate commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning tools.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative Culinary team.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, sanitized dishes, cookware, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and meet cleanliness standards.
• Clean kitchen floors, walls, drains, workstations, storage areas, and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Remove trash, recycling, and waste while keeping disposal areas organized.
• Keep walk‑in fridges, freezers, and storage areas guest‑ready.
• Support Culinary team by maintaining clean service equipment during busy periods.
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation products per procedures.
• Monitor dishwashing equipment and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with Culinary and Food & Beverage to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Take pride in a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
