Job summary

The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa seeks a dependable Houseperson to support the housekeeping team in maintaining clean, welcoming guest areas and event spaces in Houston. You will assist with linens, carts, room setups, and responding to guest service requests while upholding discreet, professional service.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, able to work as part of a team or independently, and flexible to shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or hotel support experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic English language skills for communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness in all public areas including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, fitness centers, and lounges.
• Clean staff areas and service corridors as needed.
• Perform routine inspections to ensure public areas meet cleanliness standards.
• Deliver linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies to guest floors and housekeeping carts.
• Assist room attendants by stripping linens from check-out rooms and removing trash and recyclables.
• Set up rollaway beds, cribs, and other guest room items upon request.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down meeting rooms or banquet spaces (moving chairs, tables, staging).
• Maintain storage rooms and organize supplies for event setups.
• Respond to guest requests promptly and courteously.
• Communicate guest service opportunities or maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
• Report safety hazards or equipment issues to supervisors promptly.
