Job summary

The Vanderbilt, Auberge Collection in Newport, Rhode Island, is seeking a friendly Maintenance Technician to join our engineering team. You will troubleshoot electrical motors, HVAC systems, plumbing, and carpentry tasks to keep the resort operating at peak guest experience.

This role requires safe tool handling, the ability to read technical instructions, clear English communication with guests and staff, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience serving as a technician or engineer within a hotel or property management preferred.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions on assembly of mechanical equipment, furniture and warning labels
• Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management
• Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical motors.
• Troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Troubleshoot plumbing systems.
• Perform minor carpentry tasks.
• Safely operate power tools, pressure washers, and compressors.
• Repair office and audiovisual equipment as needed.
• Respond quickly to guest requests and emergencies.
• Log essential information in the engineering logbook.
• Maintain knowledge of resort fire, water, septic, and irrigation systems.
• Support sustainability initiatives under Planet Auberge.
