Job summary

Crosby Street Hotel, part of Firmdale Hotels, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support daily engineering operations across guest rooms, public areas, and restaurant spaces in our luxury New York property.

This full-time role reports to the Chief Engineer and requires 2–5 years of maintenance or engineering experience, strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general building systems, and proficiency with Building Management Systems (BMS) and HOTSOS.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of maintenance or engineering experience, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Working knowledge of HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance systems.
• Computer literate, with experience using Building Management Systems (BMS) preferred
• Familiarity with HOTSOS or similar maintenance management systems preferred
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional under pressure

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Engineer with the overall maintenance and engineering operations of the hotel, restaurant, and surrounding grounds
• Perform general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, suites, meeting spaces, restaurant areas, and common areas
• Conduct routine inspections and walk-throughs, updating logs and promptly reporting issues requiring immediate attention
• Execute daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance programs and checklists
• Monitor, maintain, and service engineering systems and equipment, including: HVAC systems (boilers, chillers, air handling units, water pumps, exhaust fans)
• Troubleshoot and repair door locks, lighting systems, televisions, phones, and related guestroom equipment
• Perform basic repairs related to plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and kitchen equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times
• Follow all safety protocols and hotel standards
