Job summary

The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a part-time Stewarding team member to operate and maintain dishwashing equipment and ensure cleanliness across back-of-house areas.

No prior experience is required; basic English communication is preferred. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work a flexible schedule including long shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 75 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a high-energy setting with noise, interruptions, and the need to quickly shift between tasks while maintaining focus and efficiency.
• Ability to work in varying conditions, including heat, humidity, wet floors, confined spaces, and elevated noise levels typical of commercial kitchens.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions while maintaining a calm, professional attitude under pressure.
• No prior experience required; basic English communication skills preferred. Must be able to work flexible hours, including long shifts as needed

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment according to manufacturer and health standards; scrape, rinse, rack, and properly sanitize all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Keep dish room, kitchen areas, floors, walls, and equipment clean and organized in compliance with health department and resort standards.
• Properly store dishes, utensils, and equipment; restock supplies and assist with inventory management to support efficient kitchen operations.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper chemical handling and hazard awareness; perform general cleaning and other assigned duties across kitchen areas as needed
• Empty trash and recycling throughout the kitchen and dish areas; maintain clean, safe, and orderly back-of-house spaces, including floors and waste stations.
